Gender-Affirming Care Letters

Assessment & GAC Letters

Gender affirming care should be accessible to anyone who wants or needs it. As an ally to the trans community, I provide GAC referral letters that follow the WPATH Standards of Care in an effort to make receiving gender-affirming care as easy as possible.

What will our appointment be like?

We will meet via telehealth for our appointment. During this initial meeting I will provide a diagnostic evaluation, discuss informed consent for any planned GAC procedures, and assess your readiness. We will also collaborate to ensure you have adequate support prepared for the recovery process.

What you can expect from me:

Diagnostic Evaluation

We will meet via telehealth for a diagnostic evaluation. Most insurances and GAC surgeons require that the diagnostic criteria for gender dysphoria is met in order to proceed with treatment.

A Letter of Support for Your Gender-Affirming Care

I will provide you this letter via email within 3 business days from our appointment. Occasionally your surgeon, insurer, or other GAC provider may request edits, additions, or clarifications to this letter. This can, unfortunately, be a normal part of the process, but may delay things slightly. I would encourage you to please make sure to account for any potential delays like this when requesting a letter from me if possible so that your treatment is not significantly delayed.

An Affirming Experience

I am an ally to the trans community and am a part of the queer community myself, so you don’t have to worry about “proving” yourself, educating me, or defending your choices. My priority is ensuring that you are able to access the care that you want and need. Gender affirming care is healthcare, and access to healthcare is a right for every one of us.

Pricing

I recognize that accessing gender-affirming care comes with many unnecessary obstacles. I strive to reduce gatekeeping for these services and want to collaborate with you to ensure you are receiving the care you need, while also ensuring I can continue to provide this care sustainably for a long time.

I utilize a sliding scale, pay what you can model for the diagnostic assessment and letter. This is a one-time fee (even if additional edits are required later on, you won’t have to pay any additional fees), and includes both the assessment and the letter. This service is offered private pay only.

Fee structure for a GAC Diagnostic Assessment and Letter:

$50-$160, pay what you can

$160 is the full fee cost of a typical private pay session with me, however, I never want price to be something that restricts you from accessing gender-affirming care.

Please feel free to let me know what rate you feel comfortable paying. There is absolutely no shame in choosing the lowest rate if this is what makes the most sense for you financially.

If the lowest rate is still too much, please let me know. I operate on an honor system, and I have no interest in making you prove your financial status in order to qualify for a certain rate. I am hopeful that by utilizing a pay what you can model, this can respect both of our time and energy in a meaningful way. If you are able to pay the full amount, this will help me to continue providing low-cost services to those who cannot afford that price.

Pro-bono spots are also available on a limited basis.
